Hi Ladies,

I have a store on ebay. I was going to keep it just for advertisment and extra sales? (I always include a small gift and business card.) The cost is usually at least $18.00. Should I keep the ebay store or would that money be better spent on other advertising? If I get rid of the store I could still sell things and have a me page redirecting them to my website. Is keeping up the ebay going to just eat up more of my time. What have your experiences been? What do you think?

Thanks,

I have an ebay account but not an actual storefront. I do sell stuff on ebay and have traffic coming from their to my website. My problem is having the time to manage them all and be good at it. My husband says "you do many things but find one that you are really good at and concentrate specifically on that". I enjoy ebay, I think the crouds are all looking for bargains, so I don't price my stuff to cheaply anymore. I try to keep all pricing consistent and if it doesnt sell- I take the oh well attitude. I have had my website up since last october and have not had a sale yet. I have had lots of hits and just started with cockadoo country coop and intend to add some more later. I believe it just takes time to become known, established and you have to have something that people want. Not sure if Ive helped.. I do use ebay to test some of my primitive stuff, see if pricing is in line. Char

I sell items on Ebay with a storefront, there are some months with no sales from my website and I'll get quit a few sales with Ebay. I like to use Ebay to test pricing on my sewn and embroidered items I also sell embroidery designs and have found that Ebay is the best way for people to find me and then most of them will continue to purchase embroidery designs through my website rather than Ebay. I have also gotton several orders via email from freinds of someone who has purchased from me on Ebay. I have found Ebay to be a good way for advertisting at the momement. I hope this helps

I myself have not had too much luck with e-bay - seems their fees far outweigh my profit margin. So I'm not one for e-bay..but the consensus is - is that the longer you stick with it..it "may" be beneficial..now there's the question that comes into play..do I want to continue paying fees with no profit in hope of advertising per say..or do I want to go to a place I know will result in good advertising and sales "without" the cost of e-bays fees..hhhmmmm tough one..I know..question I've been battling for months myself.

Sandi..has been doing e-bay for years..hopefully she can shed some of her experience which might help.

Good Luck
