I took him to the emergency room day before yesterday. He had severe pains on the left left side of his stomach. They gave him some strong narcotics and sent him home because nothing came upon al the test they ran. Yesterday, the pain started again and I couldn't get him to the car, had to call the ambulance. Now they kept him over night and are going to do the scope in him to see if they can't find out what is causing the pain. He actually turned purple yesterday from the severity of the pain. Even the narcotics didn't take the pain totally away.
I'm getting ready to go to the hospital, his Dad stayed with him last night so I could get Ashley(our little girl)home. She vomited when we got home last night. She's so scared her Daddy won't remember her. It's so sad when their little.
Please pray for Kevin and all of us. I'm so scared.

Well, we're home. We waited all day and aroung 4 o'clock they came in and told him if he felt good he could go home!:eek: Kevin is a quiet guy and he got a little testy with them. He said he was scared to go home without knowing what is wrong. So, they went and looked a his records and came back and explained that he has gastorentinits (*spelling?*) which is a flu or virus in the stomach or bowel, which it souned like it was in both by the way he explained his pains. They said his stomach lining was inflammed also.
He is to take it easy and watch what he eats. I feel so sorry for him. If he starts talking, he about looses his breathe from the pain. He has an appointment with a family Dr. on Tuesday. So, hopefully he will get over this.
I've never seen anyone in that much pain before.
Ashley is in bed now. She just purely worn out from all of this, but she's so happy to have her Daddy back.
P.S. Countrydreams: My thoughts and prayers are with Christie and all your family. May God bless.

Connie please humor me and stress to his dr to check his intestines PLEASE! My daddy had the same problem only to discover his intestine had wraped around itself and it gangreened. PLEASE tell them you want that checked. After watching Discovery Health since we moved into the new place I am learning we have to advocate for ourselfs. Tomany times they send our loved ones home only to be back in time and time again and if they had just checked it out the 1st time they could have ended the suffering so much earlier. Crons is the other thing i would ask they check about.

Could be crones.... :confused: make sure to check that out. I had a freind that suffered terribly from that.
~~~Just plop him down in front of the tube with Ashley... your kids hugging and kissing you and telling you how much they love you is the BEST medicine!~~~
Thank you all sooo much. Sandi, I'm keeping my eyes on him. I don't trust the Dr's at all. They saud at first they were going to run a scope to check his insides out and then bang! they didn't say nothing else about it and started saying he was going home! The Dr. even brought in some students will Kevin was in alot of pain and used him as a studying tool! No compassion what so ever! If he starts this again, I'm taking him to another hospital that is a little longer distance to us, but they may look further into what's happening to him.
Kevin is still in a lot of pain, but his fever finally broke last night.
Thanks agian. I Love you gals.
I'm still praying for Christie too.
Dear Connie,
I don't want to step on any toes or be a bringer of bad news but the medical community does not know very much about stomach problems. My husband and his entire family have dealt with stomach illness for years and now they put All things under the heading of irritable bowel syndrome which can cover a wide range of disorders up to and including bowel blockage which my father-in-law had emergency surgery for. My Husband recently has found some help from a site called www.helpforIBS.com It sells helpful things and is also a support group for IBs, Chrohns Disease, Diverticulitis and numerous stomach and bowel related disorders. The person who started it has had IBS since she was 9 years old. She has tests /surveys which are very helpful to give a direction to help you also to ask questions when you are in the Doctors office. I spent time with an operator at her site when I ordered some items from the site at her toll free number, She was very helpful in giving me some questions to ask my hubands' physician. I hope this helps.These things can be vey frightening and frustrating. I have spent many nights with my poor husband doubled over with pain and not knowing how to help him.
Hugs,
Marci
Thank you Sue, DJ, and Marci.
Kevin is doing a little better today, but I think he's now trying to act like he's doing better than he really is. MEN! He says he's going to try to go to work tomorrow. That might sound bad, but his work place is just about 15 minutes from the hospital I wish we could have went to in the first place. So, if he starts getting sick again I know his co-workers will get him to the hospital asap. Me and Ashley stopped in there Friday and they were all worried about him. They've kept in touch with him while at the hospital and at home.
Thank you Marci for the web site url. We will surely check this site out. Kevin's stomach problems started when he was around 15 years old. He's now pushing his middle 30's and it is a tough and irritating life with his stomach. Hopefully this web site will help him live a more relaxing life.
Please keep us in your prayers. Love you gals!
How did Kevin do at work?
myrtlemarie
01-08-2008, 05:56 PM
Hey Gals,
Kevin went to work yesterday and he said he did O.K. He's starting to watch what he tells me because I think I'm starting to get on his nerves.:o He will only tell me that he is still pretty sore, so that means he's still hurting but not like he was. MEN! You have to read between the lines with them. He went this morning for his follow-up appointment with a family Dr. the hospital wanted him to see. He called me and told me that they "poked around" on his stomach and asked him a few questions and then asked him if he wanted another prescription for Prilosec. That was it! All I know to do is pray for the Lord to help him and if Kevin has another attck, get him to the other hospital for a second opinion.
I cried on and off for half the day at work today. I work at a sewing factory the hours Ashley (our little girl) is in school. Our secretary came by and asked me how Kevin was doing, this was before he called to tell me how the doctor visit went, and I broke down and cried on her! She gave me a hug and told me to stop crying because everyone will think she's being mean to me. LOL! It was a joke, of course. We're all like family there. I've worked there on and off since I was nineteen years old. We talked later that day and I told her I think I'm going to have to distance myself from the worry because it's starting to affect me really bad. She said it was probably because Kevin has been so healthy all these years and now something like this has happened just out of the blue. It's very scary. All Kevin will say is,"Connie, we're getting old." Yea, I know we're getting old, but that doesn't mean I'm prepared for health problems. We have been blessed that's for sure. So, I guess I should thank the Lord for what He has blessed us with and pray that He will keep His hand upon us always.
Well, I've babbled enough, but I do feel better.
Just please keep us in your prayers. Love you all!
Connie-I will continue to keep Kevin in my prayers. Being sick/having sickness isn't fun to have to deal with-especially when it isn't something you can control. The Lord is our best healer-so we have to put it in His hands. Easier said than done I know-but without prayer what else can we go to? Hugs to you....and may God put your nerves at rest.-we don't need you getting sick too.
